At Close Brothers Asset Management we look for partnerships that offer unique experiences for our clients all across the UK.
We work with brands which align with our brand values and since 2020 we’ve actively explored opportunities to support the UK arts and culture industry which suffered so much during the pandemic.
Founded in 1982 the Henley Festival is the UK’s only black-tie festival, taking place over five days, and celebrating the best of the UK and International music and arts.
The festival is a truly unique experience. It embraces a vibrant programme from pop, to classical, to jazz – a place where art and gastronomy share equal billing with music. 2024 marks the third year of RISE by Henley Festival which showcases and supports talented, young performers, artists and creative professionals who want to pursue a career in the arts industries, by providing paid work experience opportunities.
The Festival is popular with the local community and has built a loyal following over the years, including its much coveted Patrons Club. It’s with great pleasure that we announce our sponsorship of the Patrons Club in 2024. We look forward to getting to know the club members and playing our part in helping to safeguard music and the arts for future generations.
Founded in 1932 with the vision of ‘art for all’, The Courtauld is both a renowned higher education institution and a much-loved public art gallery.
Home to one of the greatest art collections in the UK, The Courtauld Gallery is located in the magnificent historical setting of Somerset House. It is particularly known for its Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings.
The Courtauld Institute of Art is a research-led, independent College of the University of London, with one of the world’s most prestigious programmes of art history, curating, and conservation.
In late summer 2023 we embarked on a new and exciting initiative with The Courtauld to establish the Close Brothers Asset Management Scholarship for an MA in Conservation. This important scholarship will help to ensure a new cohort of skilled conservators, able to care for artworks, like those in The Courtauld’s wonderful collection.
We also became a Corporate Member of the Gallery to enable us to share its iconic collection with our clients.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic the Performing Arts industry has been under immense pressure and so in 2021 we took the opportunity to build a new partnership with Northern Ballet, the UK’s foremost narrative ballet company based in Leeds.
Northern Ballet tell stories that move their audiences across the country and online. They aim to reach as many people from different walks of life with their passionate storytelling, mastery of classical dance technique and live music. Alongside world-class ballet they are committed to inspiring people of all ages and backgrounds to experience dance in the north of England.
They champion the power of the arts in education through work in schools, celebrating disabled dance through their accessible courses, and training the dancers of tomorrow at their studios in Leeds. Like the Northern Ballet, we believe that dance and the performing arts have the power to change people’s lives for the better, boosting their mental health and bringing a sense of community and togetherness. Two years on and our partnership has gone from strength to strength. Over 300 of our clients across the UK have enjoyed performances by this exceptional company.
The Chichester Festival Theatre sits at the heart of the Chichester community. Their aim is simple - to inspire and delight everyone they meet. Built by the community for the community over six decades ago Chichester is one of the country’s most loved and lively theatres.
When we opened our new office in the city we were keen to show our commitment to, and connection with, the local community. In 2023 we sponsored a production of The Vortex and are delighted to announce our sponsorship of the pre and post show talks which will take place throughout the 2024 Festival season. These talks are interactive, take place on stage and provide a fascinating insight into how the directors and cast bring these incredible productions from the page to the stage.
We’ve long since admired the thought provoking works and collaborative environment that the theatre has built over the last 60 years and we’re excited to continue and grow our relationship with the theatre.
Recordings of this season’s pre and post show talks can be found here.
This wonderful celebration of the performing arts includes drama, opera, music, dance, comedy, cabaret and conversation with award-winning artists performing across five fabulous venues.
Returning for its third year, the 2023 festival offers a spectacular programme over four days enjoyed by members of the Club along with their friends and family.
At Close Brothers Asset Management our proposition focuses on providing financial clarity and financial wellbeing, whilst understanding the wider context of our client’s lives, their world and their passions.
We are delighted to be partnering with this unique festival for the next three years and to have the opportunity to further lend our support to the creative arts industry.
